About Borders and Drainage

Keep the surfacing in and the water out

Many play area problems come from water and scattered surfacing. A border holds loose fill in, and a drained base lets water leave. Together they make play areas last.

We install timber, plastic or stone borders, add drain pipes, gravel layers or swales and grade the area so water flows away.

Questions About Borders and Drainage

Still have a question?

Call 615-357-7797

Why does my play area flood?

Common causes are low spots, clay soil, blocked drains and no drainage layer. We find the cause and fix it.

Do all play areas need a border?

Loose-fill surfaces do. Borders keep material in and define the area.

Can you fix drainage under an existing playset?

Often, yes. We plan the work to minimize disruption to the structure.
