About Engineered Wood Fiber

Natural, affordable cushioning for play areas

Engineered wood fiber is made of wood fibers that knit together, which makes it more stable underfoot than ordinary mulch. It looks natural, costs less than many surfaces and is easy to top up.

It does compact and break down over time, so it needs raking and refreshing. We install it over a drained base with a border and show you how to keep it in shape.

Good to Know

Questions About Engineered Wood Fiber

Still have a question?

Call 615-357-7797

Is engineered wood fiber the same as mulch?

No. It is made of fibers that knit together for better stability. Ordinary garden mulch is not the same.

How often do I top it up?

Usually at least yearly, more if it compacts or scatters. We show you how to check depth.

Is it good for wheelchairs?

Loose-fill surfaces are harder for wheels. If accessibility matters, consider poured rubber or tiles.
